Registration for the RNA Society of Sweden meeting 2017 is now open!

The RNA Society of Sweden is pleased to announce the second conference scheduled for 27-29 September 2017 in Örenäs Slott on the shore of the Öresund strait in Skåne (for practical information please check http://www.orenasslott.com/en/hotel/ or contact the hotel).

The meeting will start the 27th 13.00 and will finish the 29th at noon. Lunch upon arrival and before departure will be served and are included in the registration fee.

The main goal of the meeting is to have attendance of all groups doing RNA-related research in Sweden bringing them together to a common forum, to stimulate collaboration and the establishment of networks between scientists working on RNA-related topics. Internationally leading RNA scientists will be invited as keynote speakers. Oliver Rando (University of Massachusetts Medical School, USA), Torben Heick Jensen (Aarhus Univesity, Denmark), Jörgen Kjems (Aarhus Univesity, Denmark) and Juan Varcárcel (Centre for Genomic Regulation, Barcelona, Spain) have confirmed their participation.

The program will prioritize talks from scientists that did not have the chance to present their work during the previous RNASS meeting. Researchers from the Universities of Stockholm, Gothenburg, Lund, Umeå, Uppsala and Karolinska Institute have already confirmed their participation but we reserved spots in the program to be filled later. All participants submitting an abstract will be eligible for an oral presentation, including post-docs and PhD students. You can also apply for an oral presentation via mail. Only registered participants may submit an abstract. A selection process will take place and the final program will be announced after the abstract submission deadline (2017-08-30).

Abstracts should be sent to: abstractsRNASS2017@gmail.com

The total number of participants is limited. Registration will be on a first-come first-served basis and your place can only be confirmed after payment of the registration fee.

Since the RNA Society of Sweden has not financial support, all participants including selected speakers will need to pay the appropriate registration fee. The registration fee covers all meals, coffee breakes, the banquet and accommodation.

Student/Postdoc (reduced fee 4000 SEK) (excl. VAT 25%)
Principal Investigator (full rate 4900 SEK) (excl. VAT 25%)
Day participation only, including meals and coffee brakes (1200 SEK) (excl. VAT 25%)

2nd announcement, 2017 meeting of theRNA Society of Sweden

Meeting of the RNA Society of Sweden 27-29 September, 2017 at Örenäs Castle

(Please, distribute this information to all colleagues at your University)

If you are planning on coming to the meeting of the 2017 RNA Society of Sweden, PLEASE register ASAP! The number of seats is limited so that the number of participants cannot exceed the number of reserved places and we need to get a final head count no later than August 25th.

Please remember that all presenters must register for the conference. If you are on the program and haven't yet registered, please do so.

Note that you do not need to make any room reservation. We have reserved a number of single and double rooms. The reduced fee for young scientists was negotiated with the hotel manager based on the assumption that they were willing to share the room with another young scientist.  If you have any special needs or if you have specific wishes as to who you want to share a room with, please send a mail to the organizers providing the name of your roommate (RNASSmeeting2017@gmail.com) before August 25th.

As said before, the program will prioritize talks from scientists that did not have the chance to present their work during the previous RNASS meeting.  A preliminary program could be found on the RNA Society of Sweden web site (http://www.rnass.se/rnass-meeting).  The program may be subject to change. The reserved spots will be filled with participants submitting abstracts. Please, if you are planning to submit an abstract do this ASAP via mail to abstractsrnass2017@gmail.com. All participants submitting an abstract will be eligible for an oral presentation, including post-docs and PhD students. You can also apply for an oral presentation via mail. Only registered participants may submit an abstract. A selection process will take place and the final program will be announced directly after the abstract submission deadline (2017-08-30).

If you have questions about the program, please contact the organizers RNASSmeeting2017@gmail.com.

Practical information

How to get to Örenäs Castle?

Travelling by car

Coordinates: 55°56′25″N 12°46′51″O

Arriving from the north on the E6 motorway, turn off at Rydebäck, Junction 27, and follow the signs for Glumslöv. On reaching Glumslöv, turn right to Ålabodarna/Örenäs Slott (Vikingaleden).

Arriving from the south, leave the E6 motorway at Landskrona Norra, Junction 26, and follow the signs for Glumslöv. In Glumslöv, turn left to Ålabodarna/Örenäs Slott (Vikingaleden).

Travelling by plane

Alternative 1) domestic flight to Sturup, then bus to either Lund or Malmö central station, train to either  Glumslöv, Landskrona or Helsingborg. Note: the Öresund train is faster but do not stop at Glumslöv station.

Alternative 2) flight to Copenhagen, Öresund train at CPH airport (direction Malmö) to Landskrona or Helsingborg.

Travelling by train.

From Göteborg: train to either Helsingborg or Landskrona.

From Stockholm: train to Lund and then train to either  Glumslöv, Landskrona or Helsingborg. Note: the Öresund train is faster but do not stop at Glumslöv station.

From train station to the castle. Here is the hotel’s manager explanation:

Glumslöv station is located 2km from the castle but unfortunately there are no busses. Mostly Pågatåg stops at Glumslövs station (best to check beforehand so the train stops there).

A better alternative is probably to take the Öresundtrain or Pågatåg to either Landskrona station (ca 9km from castle) and the taxi from there, or take the train to Helsingborg station (ca 15km) and then taxi. Note that taxi´s should be pre-booked to avoid wait.

One alternative is also to arrange a small bus if you have several guests coming with the same flight/train. We can help with the arrangements if you like.
